Coast of Maine

Here the road leads the viewer into the painting.. to the buildings at the bottom of the hill... then beyond to the sea. This view would have been better if I had done the painting on a square canvas...and eliminating the house on the right hand side. The painting still seems to work with the house on the right, by adding a shape there to stop your eye ....and breaking up the distant ocean shape.
