Bow Street Portsmouth NH

This was my attempt using a new medium - gouache. I like the opaque qualities and bright colors, but they dry really quick on the palette. It seems like a good medium to use on the spot to create quick and loose paintings...possibly renderings for oil paintings. I'll keep this set of gouache along side me in my work van. A good quality of gouache is that it's an easy, quick clean up.

Love this little small town charmer, Dennis. I was just wondering what gouache is; I know I've read on it before, but truly cannot remember. Good to know the qualities you mentioned!

Thanks Rot
Gouache is a water based paint similar to poster paint. It is SO easy to end up with a chalky finish...so BEWARE!
