Lone Gull

This painting was done from an old photo of the Newburyport, Mass. area where the Merrimack River spills into the ocean. Newburyport is an interesting town steeped in maritime history, old houses and narrow streets and of course the fine arts. The Newburyport Art Association is a great institution that has been around since 1948. 4 x 7" Watercolor

What a lovely coastal scene! I love towns like this; reminds me a bit of Cannon Beach in OR.

Hi Dennis
I visit your blog often to enjoy your work even though I don't always take the time to comment.
I think the way that you are able to edit and simplify is just amazing! It's nice to be able to study your paintings. Thanks!
