Dinghy Run Aground

It may have been the George Bellows book I was reading that influenced me to do this painting. I was thinking of doing a seascape painting because I haven't really done a seascape painting in such a long while. The idea of having a boat crashing through the surf came to me as I was laying on the paint. It serves well as a focal point. I wonder if there was anyone on board ... and if so, they survived the landing?

I love the simplicity and the palette in this piece, Dennis. Makes for a powerful coming together and I am wondering about the passengers in the dinghy myself.
