I took a journey through Czechoslovakia via Google Street Map and chose this view to be the subject for Bill Guffeys' challenge blog : http://virtualpaintout.blogspot.com/
I was attracted to the different shapes of the buildings... and also by how much the church dominates this scene.

Absolutely gorgeous, Dennis! I love the juxtaposition of grassy open space to the right versus the crush of the buildings on the left.
Thank you Autumn.I feel that you have to take a few liberties to make a painting interesting.I left the river out of the painting...though it is still there, but my concern is on the buildings... and arrangement of foreground, middle ground and background.
Great job! I love this challenge. It is always difficult to find just the right scene - there are so many interesting scenes from which to choose. This one is wonderful and you did such a good job with it!
Very well done Dennis, great colors and clean execution,
Horst
Thank you Linda.. yes many great views of Czech Republic...the buildings are interesting... many good paintings were done by many people.
Thanks so much Horst.
Love your style, Denny.
Really nice painting, Dennis. Interestingly graphic and wonderfully subtle colors.
Thank you Leslie and Sarah.
Great composition and great color. I love your style, also.
oh my god, this is definitely the church of St. Vitus in Czech Krumlov .... It's awesome. It is obvious that you drop the blood of Czech :-) Very nice
This is a super work - you have done a great job on those buildings which must have been difficult!
Thank you Pat,Anne and J.B....yes the blood of Czech runs through me. I wrote J.B. saying that my grandmother is from old Czechoslovakia.
I really like your style on this challenge. Very sharp and clean edges. Nicely done.
Thank you Mark
I like how you simplify the scene, but capture the essence of the location. Nice work.

Thanks so much Phillip. btw, you do some great work!
This is cool. I like the height of the church - it has an ominous feel.
